If you find a lump in your breast, you should see your GP to get it checked.
You may need further tests to find out whether it's benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous) and what treatment you might need.
If the lump needs to be removed, it might involve removing a bit of your breast, or all of your breast. Removing a bit of your breast is called a lumpectomy. Removing all of your breast is called a mastectomy.
