Facts about transgender people

New Zealand and international estimates show that approximately one in 100 people identify as transgender. The Youth'12 survey found that 1.2% of students identified themselves as transgender and 2.5% weren't sure of their gender.

If you’re questioning your gender identity or identify as transgender or gender diverse, you aren't the only one, and you aren't alone. There are many friendly support networks.

If your child or a loved one is questioning their gender identity or identifies as transgender or gender diverse, there are useful information and ways to connect to support groups and other whānau/families.
