HealthInfo has been developed for people to locate useful locally approved information about health conditions, diagnosis, treatment, and referral options. This site is designed to empower people to find out more about their diagnosed health conditions, and to understand how the health system works.
The site contains a mix of locally developed patient information, descriptions of local health services and supports, and links to local, New Zealand, and international health and wellbeing information. It's intended to supplement the information that people access from their healthcare provider or general practice team.
The HealthInfo content development process
HealthInfo is developed by a team of clinical advisers who are subject-matter experts, with wide consultation from local doctors, nurses and allied health clinicians. The development team aims to get consensus on the preferred patient information included on the site from local health professionals, particularly those in the Canterbury DHB, South Canterbury DHB and general practice teams.
