Choosing contraception after having a baby

Contraception may be the last thing on your mind after having a baby, but it's important. Your options are slightly different after having a baby than they were before you were pregnant, especially if you're breastfeeding.

Options include the progesterone-only pill (POP), Depo Provera injection, contraception implant and an IUD.

Talk to your midwife or GP about the best choice for you.
