Prostate health

The prostate is a small gland that only men have. It sits just below the bladder and surrounds part of the urethra, the tube that carries urine from the bladder. It is about the size of a walnut.

The prostate helps to make semen, which carries sperm from the testicles when a man ejaculates. Because the prostate is a sex gland, its growth is affected by the hormone testosterone.
