Looking after yourself & other people who have cancer

If you or someone close to you has cancer, it's also important to take care of your emotional and physical health. Talk to your healthcare team about what support is available.

You can find a lot of information about practical and personal support through the Cancer Society. It has advice about emotions and cancer (including common reactions, counselling and support, and telling others) and talking to children about cancer.

It also has advice about the benefits of regular exercise and being active when you have cancer.

You can also use the Southern Cancer Network's Cancer Support Services Directory to find support for specific issues, ranging from accommodation during treatment and accessories to help your appearance, to transport and surviving cancer.
